Plein Air to Studio Workshop
January 24-25, 2020
There is nothing to compare with painting directly from life when it comes to seeing color and value, but let’s face it- when fighting the elements and changing light, we often get caught up in just trying to paint what we see and don’t always give enough thought to the design and composition.
Winter is the perfect time to pull in to the comfort of the studio and revisit those plein air studies and have he time to analyze your painting, and experiment with color, paint and composition.
In this two day workshop, students will use their own plein air paintings as reference. We will discuss the elements of a painting- composition and design, visual movement, value, color and brushwork and work up thumbnails for a more dynamic painting. The class will include discussion, a demo and plenty of one on one instruction.
This workshop will be held in my studio, so class size is limited to 6 students.
