dig-into-color

This 3 day workshop will guide students through basic color exercises to full color studies of still lifes. Along the way you will rediscover fundamental color principles and learn new color relationships that can harmonize and enliven your work. The stronger these skills are the better your vocabulary is and the stronger your final statement will be. The class will begin with paint mixing and creating color charts to see how colors affect each other to create harmony and unity in your paintings. Students will then move on to relative color temperature and color harmony exercises with the still life and finally move on to full color paintings. The class will include discussion, demonstrations and plenty of one on one instruction. Know your colors so well that you are free to really start expressing yourself. Students should have some experience with oil painting. Come prepared to have fun!
